Volunteers Information

Volunteering Info – How you can help Cambridge City Junior Hockey Club

Many of our Cambridge City members work to make Cambridge City Junior Hockey Club a successful club, and the club could not run without its volunteers. Other than through the provision of professional coaching the club is managed and governed on a voluntary basis by its members.

There are a number of volunteer positions within CCJHC on the coaching team, team managers/administrators and umpires.

If you have skill or willingness to assist then please contact any member of the committee.

RecognisingVolunteers:

Volunteering in CCJHC is widely encouraged as an opportunity to contribute to the running of the club. This is encouraged from an early age, with older members of the junior section assisting in the coaching and umpiring of younger players.

Support:

The Chairman and committee offer support to all volunteers.  We encourage our young members to volunteer as part of their Duke of Edinburgh award scheme

Training:

Volunteer coaches and umpires will have the opportunity to gain qualification through approved England Hockey training courses.  Details of upcoming courses can be found on the EH website.

Insurance:

The Club holds its own liability insurance cover but is not able to offer advice, on behalf of the Club or its Sections, on its suitability to individuals’ circumstances. We would therefore recommend that all volunteer coaches and umpires seek advice from an accredited insurance advisor.

Can we entice or persuade you?

In order to volunteer for a role the following policies must be read,
